Dear VT Community,
Welcoming to our relaunch.
It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since I announced our hibernation. After fully immersing myself in motherhood with my second child, it was difficult to imagine a world in which I could juggle both running a business and raising two young children, but here we are.
The pull back came slowly. I missed having a creative outlet and a sense of autonomy away from the at-times mundane, yet joyful and fulfilling moments of being with my kids. Choosing to hibernate VT was an incredibly difficult decision. After 13 years of building this brand and community, I was afraid I might lose the foundations we had created together.
But over time, as I continued reaching for my VT pieces daily and explored other purchases, I realised these garments still served a purpose. They filled a gap in the industry, one I had hoped would naturally be met, but sadly, more and more local brands have continued to close or move offshore. The foundations of VT feel more important to me now than ever, and they remain something I wholeheartedly believe in.
I also came to appreciate just how well these garments had stood the test of time. Some pieces are now over ten years old, and after having children, that longevity has become even more meaningful. Endless washing on who-knows-what cycle, covered in food, dirt, and spew, pulled on, bitten, stretched, and worn through every stage of life, VT endured all of it. That resilience has become a true testament to the quality and care behind each piece.
Through birth and postpartum, I also realised how difficult it was to find soft, quality fabrics that genuinely made my body feel good during such a vulnerable transition. I constantly found myself reaching for VT in those early days, noticing how comforting the fabric felt against my skin when I was at my most sensitive. It became something deeper than clothing, a source of comfort I hadn’t fully recognised before.
In learning more about myself, I realised how strongly I’m connected to the way fabrics feel against my skin, and how much comfort, softness, and thoughtful design influence the way I move through my day. The days of tight-fitted pants are over (for now), and there’s something very special about wearing pieces that feel good on my body, are made to last, and align with my values.
As maternity leave went on, and as I connected with so many customers and friends asking about the brand, I felt a growing pull to return, a pull to create something meaningful for a community that we all share. Stepping away gave me the space to truly see what VT had become: not just a brand, but a community.
With the support of an incredible team, I’ve been able to begin a new chapter for VT , one that feels more aligned with where I’ve landed in life, and one I hope resonates with many of you too.
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has been part of this journey, those who helped shape the collection, bring the new branding imagery to life, and support this next evolution of VT.
